  • Martin Roy Guy

    Drummer & Vocalist

“That long haired guy who’s always spinning his sticks!”

Hailing from the Isles Of Scilly off the south-west coast of England, Martin began gigging in bands before he reached double digits. By his late teens, Martin was studying music at university and touring the UK extensively. In early 2014 Martin decided to travel to New Zealand. Following yet another poor decision and an ill-fated road trip, his car eventually blew up in Queenstown and the rest - as they say - is history. In September of that year, he and Pol bonded over their love of 90’s pop-punk and they started their side-project ‘Silkworm’. When the throne became available in Freefall, Martin was asked if he would be interested in filling the role and luckily, he was! Martin has played thousands of gigs in his lifetime and has made himself a regular in the Queenstown music scene.

He now also runs Lakes Audio Music gear hire and he may, or may not have thrown a TV out of a hotel window…
